The Cape Town International Airport situated 20 kilometers from the city, is Africa’s 3rd largest airport and the 2nd largest in South Africa after Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International airport. The airport services both international and local arrivals and departures. There are a variety of shops and restaurants within the terminal buildings.
The airport has two parking garages and a large open parking area. There are car hire facilities at the airport. Metered taxis are available from the airport and an airport shuttle bus runs to and from the city center. Once at the city center, travelers will need to take a taxi to their final destination.
There are also private shuttles that can be pre booked.
There is no hotel at the airport.
