Situated at the southern end of the scenic Chapman’s Peak drive, Noordhoek beach reveals its long 2km stretch of white sand as you turn the last corner before heading down into the valley.
Noordhoek beach is popular for long walks, horse back riding, surfing and kite flying. It is a long undeveloped stretch of beach with great surfing at the corner closest to Noorhoek Village. Half way along the beach you can see the shipwreck of the Kakapo, which ran aground on 26 May 1900.
The small village of Noordhoek is situated back from the beach behind the dunes in the Noordhoek valley. It has a rural, rustic atmosphere, with horses, cows and duck in evidence. There are many B&Bs and boutique hotels in the area.
The Noordhoek Farm village comprises a small group of buildings housing art galleries, small shops and some very good restaurants. This is a favorite weekend spot for Capetonians.
