Bungy-jumping
The highest bungy-jump in the world is at Bloukrans.
Canoeing
Canoeing is possible on the Breede, Berg, Dorings. Palmiet and Orange Rivers. These are some distance from Cape Town.
Caving
The sandstone mountains have created many caves that can be explored and areas include the Kalk Bay caves and Silvermine Nature Reserve.
Cricket
Cricket is popular and played at the Newlands Cricket Grounds (021 657 2003). Details are in the press or from the Western Province Cricket Association (021 683 6420).
Cycling
The Argus Cycle Tour of the Peninsula happens each March and you will lots of cycling on roads. Popular road cycle routes are Chapman’s Peak. False Bay Route, Cape Point and along the coast from Sea Point to Hout Bay.
Fishing
Lots of deep sea fish trips with opportunity to catch longfin and yellow fin tuna and broadbilled swordfish. The best palces ot charter boats is in Hout Bay or Cape Town.

Go kart tracks are at Kenilworth Karting at 10 Myhof Road, Kenilworth (021 683 2670).

Hiking
Table mountain has lots of routes but not advisable to climb up the mountain without someone experienced contact the Mountain Club of South Africa (021 - 4653412).
Horse racing
There are two tracks Kenilworth and Durbanville and racing takes place every Wednesday and Saturday for details contact the Western Province Racing Club (021 762 7777).
Horse Riding
Noordhoek is a popular location for horse riding with its long beach. Some of the wine estates also provide wine tasting on horseback.
Ice Skating
The Grand West ice skating rink is a Grand west Casino complex (021 535 2260) or an ice Olympia in Plumstead (021 761 2949).
Kite Surfing
Kite surfing is popular on the ocean and on the lakes and lagoons. To learn try the Cape Sport Centre in Langebaan (022 772 1114)
Kloofing
An extreme sport involving hiking through mountains and then jumping from rock crevices into icy waters. Good locations are Riversonderend Gorge and Suicide Gorge.

The mountains around Cape Town have lots of trails to use. Popular areas are Deer park which is off the Tafelberg Road; Silvermine South which is about False Bay; Jonkershoek Valley close to Stellenbosch and the Paarl Mountain Reserve.
Rock Climbing
Rock climbing is possible on the many mountain cliffs and take advice from the Moutain Club of South Africa (021 461 8456). Indoor rock climbing is at City ROCK (021 447 1326).
Rugby
A favourite sport of South Africans and watch the press for details or call Western Province Rugby Football Union on 021 689 4921. The Newlands Rugby Stadium is at 11 Boundary Road, Newlands.
Sand boarding
The dunes to the north of Cape Town at Atlantis offer sand boarding possibilities.
Sailing
The Royal Cape Yacht Club is situated at the docks in Table Bay contact the Western Province Sailing Association (021 421 1354).
Scuba diving
Many dive boats operate into both oceans and it is also possible to dive with the sharks at the Two Oceans Aquarium. In the Atlantic ocean the main dive area is Oudekraal and False Bay.
Soccer
Ajax Cape Town play at the Newlands Rugby Stadium between August and May.

Swimming
Swim in the sea is always an option. Swimming pools are at the corner of Long Street and Buitensingle Street; Muizenberg Pavilion; Newlands Pool and at Sea Point Pavilion.
Windsurfing
Popular on Blouberg beach or Langebaan Lagoon and Clanwilliam Dam. Instruction is provided at the Cape Sport Centre in Langebaan.
